Scope and Contents
The collection contains drafts of speeches delivered by Pearson, newspaper clippings, constitution of Minnesota State CIO Councils, 1948; CIO Congress of Women’s Auxiliaries Manual, 1947; meeting notice for CIO of Ely, Minnesota, 1947; and miscellaneous material regarding the Minnesota State CIO Auxiliary Council Convention, 1950. Collection reflects Maney Pearson in her work as a Women’s Auxiliary union organizer and in various political campaigns.

Biographical / Historical
Maney Pearson was from Duluth, Minnesota. In the early 1920s she began her work on the Farm Labor Association in Duluth prior to its merger with the Democratic Party; she was actively involved in the DFL at all levels. She was also involved in the CIO prior to its merger with AFL. She was the organizer of CIO Women’s auxiliaries in Duluth and on the Iron Range. Her political career spanned the period from the 1920s to the 1950s.
