Biographical / Historical

William F. Roleff was born in 1873 in Menomonie, Wisconsin. As a young man he worked as a barber. In 1893 he moved to Two Harbors, Minnesota where he worked in Halliday Barber Shop. In 1900 he married Josephone Therrien. He initially took up photography as a spare time activity. He operated photography studios in Duluth, Minnesota both on his own and with John Rudolph Zweifel. In 1923 he joined the Duluth New Tribune as a photographer. He retired in 1942.
