The collection consists of the papers of Tynne S. Kettunen Savolainen. Contained in the collection are: class notes from 1912-1918; 2 notebooks from 1915, 1917; 1 church music and sermon; 5 reprints of pamphlets on a variety of topics; and 2 photographs of classrooms. There are no negatives present, and the photos are in black and white. The class notes are on medical terms and diseases.

Biographical / Historical
Tynne S. Kettunen Savolainen was born in Ishpeming, Michigan. She graduated from Women's Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and interned at Minneapolis General Hospital. She did her residency in a sanitarium Nashville, Tennessee. After she married, she did not practice but was engaged in the Savolainen family jewelry business on Superior Street in Duluth and on the Iron Range.
