Scope and Contents
The collection consists of a letter written in St. Paul to Sheffer's brother George. The letter mentions a trip on the Minnesota river returning from Henderson with "four Sioux passengers from Iowa and a white girl about 17 years old ransomed prisoner to the Indians the prior winter."
