Biographical / Historical
The Duluth Humane Society was incorporated in Duluth, Minnesota in 1892 "to prevent and punish cruelty especially to children and animals." The Society became the St. Louis County Humane Society in 1919, and soon after shifted most of its efforts towards the welfare of children.
