Scope and Contents
The collection consists of one 12 in. 33 1/3 rpm monographic LP sound recording of the Carillon Chorale, directed by Muriel Lindor. The cover of the record jacket has a photograph by L. Perry Gallagher. The recording was apparently produced by Muriel Lindor, the address on the record jacket is the same as the Lindor Piano and Organ Company which was owned by Lindor and her husband, Clifford.
Many of the songs on the album were arranged by Muriel Lindor who plays piano on the recording as well as directing the Chorale. The first side of the album is titled “Praises to Our Creator”, the second side is titled “Praises to Our Country.” The record jacket includes information about the Carillon Chorale, a brief biography of Muriel Lindor, a recommendation by Ruth Lind, a group photograph of the Chorale and a head shot of Muriel Lindor. Additional musicians appearing the recording are Judy Lindor, organ, Daniel Morton, trumpet, and Steven Morton, drums.

Biographical / Historical
Muriel Lindor was a Duluth musician. A Duluth native, she studied music at the University of Minnesota and the Surette School of Music. She was a frequent soloist with the Duluth Superior Symphony performing on piano, organ, and celeste. Muriel Lincor directed numerous church choirs and performed in many musical programs and events. She served as the director of the Carillon Chorale for 20 years and was the president of Matinee Musicale from 1968-1970. With her husband, Clifford, she was the owner of Lindor Piano and Organ Company. Muriel and Clifford Lindor had one daughter, Judy Lindor Arnold.
The Carillon Chorale was a 45 member Duluth-based mixed chorus directed by Muriel Lindor. It drew participants from the Duluth-Superior region with some singers traveling as far as eighty miles to attend rehearsals and performances. The Chorale participated in contests and concert performances. The notes on their recording state “The chorale limits rehearsal to one two-hour session per week with the idea of preserving time for family life and other interests.” The Chorale was active from about 1960 to about 1980.
