Biographical / Historical
Henry Truelson came to Duluth, Minnesota in 1869. He served as Alderman, Sheriff, and Public Works Commissioner. In 1896 he was elected Mayor and held the office until 1900. This was during the famous water fight of the middle 90’s. After holding office for two terms, he was defeated and sometime later moved to Zenith, North Dakota where he entered the coal mining business and prospered. At the time of his death he lived with his daughter in Los Angeles, California. His body was returned to Duluth, where it was met by an honor guard and lay in state, he was buried in Duluth.
