Biographical / Historical
The United Citizens for Clean Water and Air, a Duluth, Minnesota area environmental organization grew in membership during the mid 1970’s when it became widely known that the Reserve Mining Company was dumping asbestos-like fibers into Lake Superior. The group sought to keep the public informed on various environmental issues, collected research materials on asbestos and filtration problems, and mobilized the public on various issues such as water rate increases.
