Scope and Contents
The collection contains reports, minutes, ledgers, correspondence, receipts, and publications.
Box 1-2 Administrative Records Administrative records contain minutes of the auxiliary meetings, by-laws, constitutions, and general and inter-auxiliary correspondence. Administrative records also include committee reports, reports by the Treasurer, Secretary and President, rosters, and the proceedings and reports of state and national conventions.
Box 3 Financial Records Financial records consist of records of expenditures and receipts, and bank books and statements.
Box 3 Publicity Records Publicity Records primarily contain promotional material to and from the auxiliary, and order blanks for promotional material.

Biographical / Historical
The United Spanish War Veterans John G. McEwen Auxiliary Post Number 3 was organized in Duluth ca. 1909. The United Spanish War Veterans Auxiliary was set up to promote and publicize issues of concern to the veterans of the Spanish American War and their dependents. The Auxiliary aided the needy, promoted patriotism, and participated in civic affairs.
The John G. McEwen Post No. 3 held bi monthly meetings at the St. Louis County Court House War Memorial Room. During the mid 1960's members discussed the dissolution of their organization. The John C. McEwen Auxiliary Post No. 3 ceased operations in ca. 1967.
