Biographical / Historical
The United Spanish War Veterans were organized in 1900. The various nationwide chapters included those men who had participated in the Spanish War and the Philippine Insurrection and had been honorably discharged. The United Spanish War Veterans sought to publicize and to promote issues of concern such as pensions for widows and orphans of the veterans of the Spanish-American War.
