St. Luke's Hospital records
Scope and Contents
The collection contains annual reports from 1888, 1925, 1926, 1935-1975; news clippings, 1923-1977; pamphlets, publications, letters, and emphemera including two White Caps yearbooks from the graduating nurses classes of 1930 and 1947, a graduation invitation from 1945 listing graduate names, and a 75th anniversary publication with the names of honored employees; and four photographs. The 1888 annual report includes articles of incorporation. Also included is a photocopy of the 1881 St. Paul's Episcopal Church record including a resolution to form the hospital, the hospital by-laws and notes concerning the October 26, 1881 first meeting of the Board of Managers through the board's third meeting, January 3,1882.

Biographical / Historical
St. Luke's Hospital was founded in 1882 through the efforts of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and Rev. J. A. Cummings. It was located at 3rd Ave. East and Superior St. in Duluth, Minnesota. The hospital has undergone a number of building constructions and is presently located at 915 East 1st St.
