The collection contains correspondence, 1926-1967; Minnesota Centennial reference materials, 1968; a handwritten catalog of Bardon's personal collection of historic weapons, Indian artifacts, miscellaneous antique items and books, it includes detailed descriptions and infomation on type, condition, and provenance, 1911; newsclippings, 1926-1968, and photographs, 1930-1958. Most of the collection concerns the Minnesota Centennial.

Biographical / Historical

Richard Bardon was born in Superior, Wisconsin on January 8, 1897. He graduated from Northwestern University Medical School in 1924 and began his medical practice in Duluth, Minnesota, specializing in internal medicine. He served as chief of staff of St. Mary's and Miller Memorial hospitals, and board member of the Duluth Clinic. Dr. Bardon was president of the St. Louis County Historical Society and county chairman of the Minnesota Statehood Centennial Commission. He was the grandson of Richard Bardon, and son of John A. Bardon. He died on June 3, 1968. Author: B.H. Bruemmer
