Biographical / Historical

The Center for Restorative Justice and Peacemaking at the University of Minnesota Duluth was established in 1994 by practitioner, trainer and researcher, Dr. Mark Umbreit. It is the first academic-based site on restorative justice. According to the CRJP website, their mission is "to provide support and resources to many different stakeholders within in the fast-growing movement of restorative justice: international peacemakers, program managers, facilitators of restorative dialogue, trainers, and researchers, so they can maintain and strengthen restorative dialogue on all levels."
