The collection contains correspondence related to Charles K. Dickerman and his cousin Oscar G. Greene. Many of the letters are between these two individuals, and are related to business, personal, and family subjects. Also included are letters to and from E. H. Bailey and Dr. Mary Jewett, among others. The collection also includes a number of empty envelopes.

Biographical / Historical

Charles Kent Dickerman, grandson of John D. Greene, was born in Decorah, Iowa and moved to St. Paul, Minnesota with his parents when he was about ten years old. He attended the University of Minnesota and graduated in 1900. His father, Charles E. Dickerman, had established a real estate and inventment company in St. Paul, named Dickerman Investment Company, where C.K. Dickerman worked following a short time in business in New Duluth. In 1908 he moved to Duluth, where he operated a branch of the Dickerman Investment Company. In 1902 he married Mabel Stone, and they had four children.

Oscar G. Greene was a cousin of C.K. Dickerman. During the time the letters in this collection were written, he resided in Decorah, Iowa; St. Paul, Minnesota; and San Diego, California.
