Scope and Contents

This artifact was transferred to the UMD Archives on September 21, 1981. It is the original UMD flag that was flown in the Elsworth Mountain Region of Antartica, and later over South Pole. UMD Professors Charlies Matsch and Richard Ojakangas took part in this expedition during November 1979 to January 1980.
