Description

This record group documents the work accomplished by the Center for Small Towns, an office originally linked to Continuing Education and Extension and one that works with local partners in addressing challenges to communities in West Central Minnesota. Materials in the group reflect these efforts at local outreach and reflect the work of the Center with foundations, such as Blandin, to develop programs to serve the needs of local communities. These programs ranged from economic development to housing to education to health care to the promotion of the arts. Materials consist of reports, correspondence, charts, brochures, and other promotional materials, etc. Of special note are the materials having to do with the Morris Elementary School Reuse Project, the materials on rural housing and homelessness and the various folders concerning Community Outreach Partnership Centers (COPC).
