The collection contains manuals (saved by Burroughs Corporation) that were published separately and independently by Gregory Publishing Company. They are manuals dealing with programming languages and software and Burroughs large computers, including the B6700, the B7000/B6000/B5000 families. The manuals concentrate on the programming languages (ALGOL and COBOL), but also contain a primer on CANDE, WFL, and the DMSII system.

Collection contains manuals for several large scale Burroughs computer systems published by the Gregory Publishing Company.
The Gregory Publishing Company was located in Sonoma, CA, and Donald J. Gregory wrote many of the manuals himself, although other authors included: Larry McQuown, Joe Joseph, and James Cogan.
The records were given to the Charles Babbage Institute by Unisys Corporation in 1991, accession 991-35.
