Scope and Content Note
The collection contains files maintained by the Burroughs Corporation Patent Research Division regarding Burroughs Corporation research activities. The bulk of the materials relate to research at Philadelphia and Paoli. Materials include project objectives, progress reports, technical drawings, and research proposals, as well as some correspondence. Also included are project reports on work done for Burroughs for the Engineering Research Institute at the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor and the University of Pennsylvania. Some administrative material on research division activity is included.

Abstract
Collection includes progress reports and research proposals, with a small amount of correspondence. Project reports describe work done for Burroughs at the Research Center in Paoli and the Engineering Research Institute at the University of Pennsylvania (in Philadelphia). There is also some administrative material on the research division’s activity.
Acquisition:
The records were given to the Charles Babbage Institute by Unisys Corporation in 1991, accession 991-35.
