Scope and Content Note

The collection documents aspects of product development for the B205, B220 and B3500 and special requests made by customers.

The B205 series documents problems with the paper tape converter and efforts to work with IBM using punched card equipment. The B220 series shows the evolution of this computer. The B3500 series document how Engineering, Manufacturing and the ElectroData Division worked together to produce this computer.

The Custom Engineering series contains information on solutions by the ElectroData Division of specific customer needs not met with the standard products. The External Correspondence series outlines potential and realized cooperative projects and the Internal Correspondence series provides a glimpse of the relationship that existed between Burroughs facilities in Detroit and Paoli and Pasadena. Correspondents in the internal correspondence include: M.E. Mengel, VP-Product Planning; J.R. Bradburn, VP- Manufacturing and Engineering; W. Lonergan, Manager Product Planning; L.P. Robinson, Director of Engineering; Sibyl Rock, and L. W. Cali.
