Biographical Note

Frances E. Holberton, also known as Betty Holberton or Betty Snyder, started with the Eckert Mauchly Computer Corporation in the late 1940s and later worked for Remington Rand after it purchased Eckert Mauchly Corporation. She was a leading figure in programming language development for Remington Rand.
