The collection contains production material for over eighty books by Eve Bunting published between 1978 and 2008. Production materials include typescripts, proofs, notes, and research materials. The collection also contains some correspondence mostly concerning various books' publication.

Biographical / Historical
Eve Bunting was born December 19, 1928 in Maghera, County Derry, Northern Ireland. She graduated from Methodist College in Belfast in 1945, and attended Queens University, Belfast for two years. In 1958, Eve Bunting and her husband and three children moved to California, where she began taking writing classes at a local college. In 1972, Eve Bunting published her first book The Two Giants, a story based on the Irish legend of Finn McCool the giant. Throughout her long and prolific career, Eve Bunting has used her knowledge of Irish folklore and the socio-political situation in Northern Ireland in some of her books for children and young adults. She has written over 200 fiction and nonfiction books for both children and young adults in a variety of genres. She lives in California.
