Biographical Sketch

Fernando Krahn was born January 4, 1935, in Santiago, Chile. He became a writer and illustrator of children's books. His lawyer father wanted him to study law, which he did for a while, but he also continued to draw. He also gained valuable experience from a circus his father organized each summer, and in which he participated. In 1962 he went to New York to work as a professional cartoonist. He has received numerous recognitions and awards.
