Biographical Sketch

Megan McDonald was born February 28, 1959, in Pittsburgh, PA. She received a B.A. from Oberlin College in 1981. Prior to beginning her writing career she worked as a park ranger, bookseller, museum guide, librarian, and storyteller. Most of her books are aimed at younger children, and she has received awards and honors for several of them. She is best known for her Judy Moody series, which was also made into a feature film, whose screenplay was cowritten by McDonald. She lives in California.
