Biographical / Historical

Barbara Bottner was born in 1943 in New York City. She attended Boston University and Ecole des Beaux Arts before earning her BS from the University of Wisconsin in 1965 and an MA from the University of California Santa Barbara, as well as studying Animation at the School of Visual Arts. In addition to writing children's books, she pursued a varied career as a freelance writer, kindegarten teacher, actress, animation producer, set designer, art instructor and television writer. Bottner lives in Los Angeles, California.
