Biographical / Historical

Ann Atwood was born in the year 1913 near a Mexican-California border town entitled Heber. Upon completion of her BA at the University of Redlands, Ann journeyed to Los Angles to be a photography student at the Art Center School in the summer of 1935. Just two years later her name engraved a portraiture studio for children located in Riverside, CA followed by one in San Marino and one in South Laguna up until 1967. This year also saw the publication inception of Atwood's photographs in a children's book called The Little Circle.. She went on to be the recipient of many awards and honors throughout her career. Atwood's forte resided in capturing the "quality of childhood expressed in the faces of children". Ann Atwood passed away in 1992.
