Biographical / Historical

Franz Brandenberg was born in 1932 in Zug, Switzerland. He attended boarding school in Einsiedeln, Switzerland. He was apprenticed to a publisher and bookseller in 1949. He worked in bookshops in London, Paris and Florence 1952-1960. He married the children's book author and illustrator Aliki Liacouras in 1957. In 1960 the couple moved to New York City and Franz became a literary agent. He started writing children's books in 1969. His books were illlustrated by his wife.
