Biographical / Historical

Elisabeth Benson Booz was born in 1925 to American parents in London. She moved to the United States with the outbreak of World War II, where she completed her schooling, graduating in 1946 from the University of California, Berkeley, before earning a Master's degree from the University of Geneva, Switzerland. She met and married American Paul Booze while living in Europe, and they spent the next several decades living in countries around the world. Beginning in the 1980s she split her time between the United States and France. In addition to several children's books, Booz was an artist, teacher, and journalist, and raised several children. She died in 2016.
