Peggy Adler Papers
Scope and Contents
The collection contains typescripts, illustrations, sketches, dummies, proofs, correspondence, color separations, and related material for over two dozen children's books written or illustrated by Peggy Adler, including written production material for her Puzzle books, and illustrative material for nonfiction works illustrated by Adler (primarily science and mathematics). The collection also includes some material originally created by Ruth Adler (see the art for The Stars which included both Ruth's original illustrations for the 1956 edition and Peggy's art created for the revised edition), as well as one title Weather in Your Life, that was illustrated by both Ruth and Peggy Adler in collaboration.

Biographical / Historical
Author and illustrator Peggy Adler was born in 1942 in New York to the Kerlan Collection's Irving and Ruth Adler. She has illustrated dozens of children's books, many written by her father and also wrote and illustrated four math puzzle books, namely The Adler Book of Puzzles, The Second Adler Book of Puzzles and Riddles,
Metric Puzzles and Math Puzzles, for which her father was mathematical consultant. She has primarily worked in the genre of nonfiction, namely mathematics and history. Adler lives in Clinton, Connecticut and has written two books related to that shoreline community, one being the 2019 award winning, Images of America- CLINTON, a pictorial history of the town and the other, the 2022 biography, Pallenberg Wonder Bears – From the Beginning, a large format book about the acrobatic circus bears that once trained and resided there and the man who owned and trained them.
