Biographical Sketch

Helen Cresswell was born in Nottinghamshire, England in 1934 and was educated at Kings College, University of London. She was one of Great Britain's foremost children's authors, creating work for both preschoolers and older children. She wrote both poetic fantasy and humor, notably in the Bagthorpe series. Cresswell died in 2005.
