William Gropper Collection
Scope and Contents
The collection contains a folded proof for the children's book The Little Tailor, as well as six signed lithograph prints of various folkloric figures, published by Associated American Artists. the prints include, "Finn McCool (or MacCool)," "Davy Crockett," "Diogenes," "Joe Magarac," "Johnny Appleseed," and "Rip Van Winkle."

Biographical / Historical
William Gropper was a cartoonist, painter, and lithographer. He was born in 1897 in New York City, and died in 1977 in Manhasset, New York. Much of his work was associated with left-wing politics.
