Biographical Sketch
Ernest Howard Shepard was born December 10, 1879, in London, England, and died March 24, 1976, in Lodsworth, England. He was a cartoonist, author, and illustrator, perhaps best known for his illustrations of the works of A. A. Milne. In 1972 he was awarded the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for his contributions to art.
