Biographical / Historical

Evelyn Shaw was a scientist and author who was born January 19, 1927, in Jersey City, NJ. She earned a Ph.D. from New York University and worked for the American Museum of Natural History and later Stanford University. An expert on schooling fish, in addition to her books for children, she published academic works, as well as the book Female Strategies, examining female behavior in nature. She died in 2003.
