Biographical / Historical
Vladimir Vasilevich Vagin was born in Russia in 1937 and studied at the Moscow Polygraphic Institute. He is an illustrator of children's books and worked with prominent authors such as Jane Yolen, Frank Asch, and Katherine Paterson. Vagin eventually immigrated to the United States and moved to Vermont. His detailed art work reflected the influences of his heritage, both the Russian landscape, folk art, and other fine art.
