Biographical / Historical

Yoshiko Uchida was born in Alameda, California in 1921. She was an educator, secretary, and author of children's books that deal with the Japanese-American experience. She taught schoolchildren when she and her family were interned in Utah during World War II and later she worked as a secretary in order to have time to do her writing after work. Uchida died in 1992.
