Biographical Sketch

Elizabeth Winthrop was born on September 14, 1948 in Washington, D.C. She earned her B.A. from Sarah Lawrence College in 1970. Her career has spanned over 30 years in the children's and young adult book industry, beginning as an assistant editor of Harper Junior Books division in 1971 and founding partner of Editors Ink, a manuscript evaluation service, in 1987. She has authored over 30 books for children and young adults since 1972.
