Biographical / Historical

Dorothy M. Broderick was born in 1929 in Bridgeport, Connecticut. She received her BS at New Haven College in 1953, her MLS from Columbia University in 1956, and her DLS from the same institution in 1972. She was a professor of children's literature at a variety of institutions in the United States before settling at Dalhousie University in Canada in 1972. She has written a number of books for children and books for adults who work with children.
