Biographical / Historical

Susan Marie Swanson was born outside of Chicago, Ill. where she was a frequent visitor to the local library. She attended the University of Massachusetts-Amherst where she received her Masters in English. She began writing poetry for adults, and once her children were born turned toward writing books for children. She also writes essays and reviews about children's literature.
