Biographical / Historical
Ted Lewin was born May 6, 1935 in Buffalo, NY. A professional wrestler fron 1952-65, his career as an artist and freelance illustrator began after he earned a BFA from the Pratt Institue of Art in 1956. With over one hundred picture book illustration credits as well as a number of self-illustrated books, the author-illustrator is considered one of the most talented in his genre. His works have earned numerous awards. His love of nature and travel has resulted in many titles associated with these subjects.
