The collection contains paste-up spreads with ink illustrations, and two watercolor illustrations with black line acetate overlays, for the children's picture book Birthdays are for Everyone, by Charlotte Steiner. The collection also holds an uncut proof sheet for the picture book Kiki Skates.

Biographical / Historical

Charlotte Steiner was born in 1900 in Vienna, Austria, and came to the United States in 1938, She became a naturalized citizen in 1944, and died August 12, 1981. She was an author and illustrator of children's books; all of the books she authored are self-illustrated.
