Biographical / Historical

Suzanne Fisher Staples was born August 27, 1945, in Philadelphia, PA. She became a news correspondent and editor, with much experience in India and Hong Kong. She began writing in the late 1980s and her first book, Shabana, Daughter of the Wind, published in 1989, received a Newbery Honor.
