Biographical / Historical

Melissa Lion was born in 1976 in California. She received her Master of Fine Arts at Saint Mary's College, where she now teaches. Lion now resides in San Francisco, California, working as a bookseller, writer, and educator. Her novels for young adults, including Swollenand Upstream, show a unique perspective on adolescent life that Lion attributes to her vivid memory of her own teen years.
