Biographical / Historical

Ida Luttrell was born April 18, 1934, in Laredo, Texas. She grew up on a ranch, where she learned the companionship of animals, and these early experiences are reflected in much of her writing for younger children. She has been given awards and honors for her work. Before turning to writing she worked as a lab technician and bacteriologist.
