Creator

Biographical / Historical

Rick Chrustowski grew up in Valparaiso, Indiana, the fifth of six children. He developed an interest in art at an early age, which, combined with his love of the outdoors, has led to his career as an illustrator of children’s books, mostly about animals. He currently lives in a rural area near River Falls, Wisconsin, where he has created various habitats to attract animals. Before writing or illustrating an animal, he does extensive research, and tries to put himself in the animals place—crawling through a meadow like a ladybug, for example. He tries to make his books both fun and informational.
