Biographical Sketch

Brian Doyle was born on August 12, 1935, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Doyle has worked as an author, playwright, waiter, taxi driver, jazz singer, and brick layer, among other various jobs. Doyle is considered one of Canada's most distinguished authors of middle-grade and young-adult novels. He has won many awards for his work, including a Book of the Year Award from the Canadian Library Association.
