Biographical / Historical
Gennifer Choldenko was born in California in 1957. She has a degree in English. She worked as a copy writer for seven years before returning to school. She wrote her first novel while in art school. In 2005 she won the Newbery Honor for her book Al Capone Does My Shirts. She lives in California.
