Biographical / Historical

Julie Schumacher was born in 1958 and grew up in Wilmington, DE, and earned degrees from Oberlin College and Cornell University. Schumacher published her first short story in 1983, and her first novel, The Body is Water, in 1995. She writes short stories and novels for both adults and teenagers, and teaches writing at the University of Minnesota. She lives in St. Paul, MN.
