Scope and Contents

The collection contains assorted drawings related to Ivy + Bean books 1 to 3 and A Fine Dessert, as well as watercolor illustrations for Ivy + Bean and the Ghost that Had to Go(book 3), and individual watercolors for other works illustrated by Blackall. The collection also contains a watercolor of Captain Harry Colebourn and Winnie reading Finding Winnie, created by Blackall for the 2017 American Booksellers for Free Expression (ABFE) auction.

Biographical / Historical

Artist, illustrator, and author Sophie Blackall was born in 1970 in Australia. She completed a Bachelor of Design in Sydney, Australia, in 1992, before moving to the United States in 2000. She has illustrated children's books including Ruby's Wish, Big Red Lollipop, The Baby Tree, and the Ivy + Beanseries. She lives in Brooklyn, New York.
