Katharina Barry was born in 1936 in Berlin, Germany. She was educated in Zurich, Switzerland. She married and had two sons. She wrote and illustrated the book A is for Anything, which was named one of the fifty best books of 1962 by the American Institute of Graphic Arts. She has also written several other books.
The collection consists of original art for three books published between 1961 to 1966.
