Biographical / Historical

Eva Kissin was born Eva Hertz on February 12, 1923 in New York City. Kissin earned a BA from Syracuse University and an MA from New York University. She was a career school teacher who compiled a short story collection contrasting perspectives from Black and white writers. In addition to teaching, she consulted for the Brooklyn Museum, studied literature and film, and served as an adjunct professor at New York University. She died in 2007.
