Biographical / Historical

Byrd Baylor Schweitze) was born in 1924 in San Antonio, Texas and attended the University of Arizona. She is an author of books for children and adults, and several of her children's books have been cited as Caldecott Honor Books. Her books focus on the region of the American Southwest. Baylor died in 2021.
